About Nipponika
Nipponika is a small cross-border store focused on traditional Japanese craft goods. We source small-batch products directly from artisans and craft regions across Japan, and share them with customers overseas.
What We Carry
We look for objects that are practical, well-made, and culturally rooted — textiles, ceramics, metalwork, and everyday items that carry a clear sense of Japanese craftsmanship. Each product comes from a specific region and tradition, and we try to share that context on every product page.
Our First Collection: Arimatsu Shibori
Our first collection features Arimatsu shibori, a traditional Japanese textile dyeing craft with over 400 years of history. Originating in the town of Arimatsu near Nagoya, each piece is hand-tied and dyed by skilled artisans using natural indigo. The technique produces patterns that are impossible to replicate exactly, making every item genuinely one of a kind.
Arimatsu shibori is recognized as a designated Japanese traditional craft. The town of Arimatsu itself is a preserved historical district where the craft has been practiced continuously since the early Edo period (1608).
Small-Batch Nature
Because many of the items we source are made in small batches or have slight individual variation, product details may differ slightly from piece to piece. We try to describe those differences clearly on each product page.
